Team History

Commonwealth formed up in the fall of 1993 with eight dancers.  The founding members brought over 150 years of combined Morris experience and set a tradition of skilled dancing and musicianship to which we remain committed.  All this experience also had the hidden bonus of a great deal of good old fashioned Morris opinionism; as a result, the team went unnamed and unnamable until the fall of 1994 when we settled on the Commonwealth Morris Men.  The team name commemorates the beauty and fine traditions of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where we reside.
